Elevation: +25 m
Season: mid April to late November

Trailhead and Driving Directions
From Nakusp, head 10 km south on Highway 6 and turn into McDonald Creek Provincial Park. As you enter the campground, turn right to drive all the way to the far end of the campsites (campsites 71 and 72). The trail starts at the far end.

Around the Loop
The trail takes off through the forest and the loops all have signed junctions. After 0.3 km, reach a junction near the old homestead and turn left to hike down an old road bordered by dark trees.
After 1.1 km, reach another junction with a loop heading to the edge of McDonald Creek. The forest is full of impressive cedar stumps, marked by springboards. At 1.5km, you’ll reach the furthest point with a view over McDonald Creek.
Head back and turn left at the next junction to make a bigger circuit around the old homestead.
