The Kootenays are calling…..

It’s spring!

Trail conditions change every year and trails become snow-free based on elevation, slope aspect, and weather conditions. Alpine hikes are typically accessible in mid-July so check out the Shoulder Season Hikes down in the valleys.

West Kootenay Hiking is a free online hiking resource. You’ll find trail reviews, driving directions, topographic maps, photos, GPS files for download, and more! The site has over 100 trails documented and is constantly expanding. Visitors can add trip reports with the latest information about trail and road conditions. Happy hiking!
