The Fry Creek Canyon Trail has suffered from recent mudslides along the canyon wall, significantly shortening the route during spring run-off. But it’s still a worthwhile destination if you’re already visiting the north end of Kootenay Lake!
The Skattebo Reach Trail connects from Glade to Castlegar, contouring above the Kootenay River. It’s a pleasant forested route with the blue-green river peeking through the woods. McPhee Creek makes a good turnaround point if you don’t want to head all the way to the Brilliant Substation near Castlegar.
Here’s a reason to cross the Glade Ferry! The trail to Glade Creek Falls is a short, but worthwhile destination!
A pleasant loop of trails that weaves along the forests and beaches of Kokanee Creek Provincial Park! This is a great early-season hike at low elevation, or come back in late August to see the spawning kokanee.

The trail builders created some impressive bridges and boardwalks, making this easy trail feel like a proper adventure! This trailhead is right beside the Merry Creek Trails, giving you two great hikes for one day!
